Chocolate Braided Loaf
Chocolate Braided Loaf is the curious combination of the goodness of a sweet bread and chocolate truffle.It is also called as chocolate swirl bread as it has spiral layers of chocolate truffle in a braided loaf.
Ingredients Required For The Dough:
- Refined wheat flour- 250 gm
- Yeast – 5 gm
- Sugar – 20 gm
- Salt – 4 gm
- Butter – 15 gm
- Egg – 1 No
- Milk – 70 to 80 ml
For Chocolate Truffle:
- Dark Chocolate-50 gm
- Fresh Cream – 50 gm
Chocolate Braided Loaf Method:
1.Activate the yeast by adding a pinch of sugar and luke warm water.Sieve the flour.
2.Mix sugar and salt with the flour.Make a well in the well and add activated yeast.Now also add egg and half the milk and start combining the dough.
3.Once done add butter and knead.After the butter has been incorporated add the rest of the milk and knead well to develope the gluten.Now allow the dough to rest(Bulk Fermentation).
4.Now make the chocolate truffle by heating dark chocolate and fresh cream together on a thick bottomed pan.allow it to cool down.
5.Once the dough has rested enough ,give knockback and roll to a rectangle sheet and apply chocolate truffle allover except leaving space on the sides.Now roll to a cylinder and cut into 3 equal pieces.
6.Using them make a braided loaf and allow the bread to proof . Once proofed apply water on top and sprinke some sugar.Now bake this in a pre-heated oven at 220c for about 15 to 18 mts.
7.After baking is done apply some oil on top and allow to rest for atleast 2 hrs before cutting and serving.Now your Chocolate Braided Loaf is ready to enjoy with your family and friends or to sell it in your shop.
Chocolate Braided Loaf Making Tips:
The amount of milk used depends on the flour used hence add it gradually. We have used compound dark chocolate in this recipe.We also made 3 braided loaf but you can increase the strings as per your liking.Giving egg wash before baking is optional as the has enough sugar to give nice colour on top.
