Sub Bread Recipe For Sandwiches


Here i am posting Sub Bread Recipe For Sandwiches because it is a very useful bread to make sub sandwiches .Sub bun, also known as submarine bun is used in making variety of sandwiches.Method can be watched in video link below.

Ingredients For sub Bread

  • Flour-250 gm
  • Sugar-20 gm
  • Refined Oil- 20 gm
  • Yeast- 5 gm
  • Salt- 5 gm
  • Milk-25%
  • Water-25%

Sub Bread Method:

  1. First start with fly fermenting the yeast with a pinch of sugar and luke warm water.Then keep it aside for sometime till it activates.
  2. Sieve the flour and add sugar and salt ,mix well. Once done add activated yeast and milk and some amount of water .Combine all the ingredients into a dough.
  3. Then add refined oil and knead the dough well.Finally add the rest of the water and knead to a smooth dough.Now allow the dough to rest ( Bulk Fermentation) for 10 mts.
  4. Once Fermented give knock back and divide dough into 100 gm pieces.Then make them into Long cyliner shpae and place on a greased tray.Allow to ferment.
  5. Check the fermentation by pressing with a finger on the side of the dough,if it springs back fast it needs more fermentation, else it is ready for baking.
  6. Once fermented enough apply water and Score on the top with a blade,then Bake in a pre heated oven at 230 c for about 12 to 15 minutes.

Sub Bread Recipe Tips:

It is advisable to use bread flour for the recipe.Incase of only all purpose flour is available mix 10 gm’s of gluten for 1 kg of flour.This is made using Straight dough method.Bread improver can also be added( 2 gm for 1 kg of flour).Also to note that instant dry yeast was used for this recipe and it is important to activate the yeast before using for better result.

Sprinkling some mixed herbs on top of the bread before baking gives it a nice flavour.
